Terms of Service

1. Who we are
WORKZA is operated by [Legal entity name], a company registered in Nigeria with RC number [number] and registered office at [address] ("WORKZA", "we", "us"). These Terms govern your use of the WORKZA website, applications and services (the "Platform").
By creating an account you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice and the Refund and Dispute Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. What WORKZA is
WORKZA is a marketplace that connects people who need work done ("Customers") with independent workers who offer services ("Workers"), and lets registered sellers list goods for sale to other users ("Marketplace"). WORKZA is not a party to the contract for services or goods between users, does not employ Workers, and does not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of any job, service or item.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Nigerian law.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it current. One person may hold one account, which may operate in Customer and Worker mode.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password and any payment PIN secret. Tell us at once at [support email] if you suspect unauthorised use.
- We may require identity verification (for example a National Identification Number or government-issued ID) before you can offer services, receive payouts or withdraw funds. Verification is handled as described in the Privacy Notice.
4. Posting jobs and applying for work
- Customers must describe jobs accurately, including location, timing and budget, and must not post anything unlawful, discriminatory or unsafe.
- Workers must only apply for work they are competent and legally permitted to perform, and must perform accepted jobs personally unless the Customer agrees otherwise.
- When a Customer selects a Worker, a contract for services is formed directly between them on the terms shown in the job (price, date, scope). WORKZA facilitates communication, payment and dispute handling but is not a party to that contract.
- Contact details are shared between the parties only after a Worker is selected, and may be used only for that job.
5. Payments, escrow and fees
- Job payments are processed by our licensed payment partner. When a Customer pays for a job, the amount is held in a protected balance ("held payment") and released to the Worker's WORKZA wallet when the Customer confirms completion, or automatically [3] days after the Worker marks the job complete if the Customer neither confirms nor raises a dispute.
- WORKZA charges a service fee of [10]% of the agreed job price, deducted from the amount released to the Worker. The fee in force is shown before you accept a job. Marketplace sales carry a [10]% commission paid by the seller.
- Where parties choose to settle a job offline, WORKZA's service fee remains payable by the Worker and may be collected from the Worker's wallet or future payouts.
- Wallet balances represent amounts held for you with our payment partner. They are not interest-bearing deposits. You may withdraw available balances to a verified Nigerian bank account in your own name, subject to minimum and maximum limits, fees and identity verification shown in the app.
- Loan offers shown in the Platform are provided by third-party lenders. WORKZA is not a lender, does not decide applications and is not responsible for the terms of any loan.
6. Cancellations, refunds and disputes
Cancellations, refunds and disputes are governed by the Refund and Dispute Policy, which forms part of these Terms. WORKZA may, acting reasonably, release, refund or split a held payment to resolve a dispute, and its decision is final as between the parties for the purposes of the Platform, without prejudice to your legal rights.
7. Reviews and content
You may post reviews and content only about jobs you were a party to. Content must be honest, lawful and respectful. You grant WORKZA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display content you post on the Platform. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.
8. Prohibited conduct
You must not: circumvent the Platform's payment process to avoid fees; create fake jobs, accounts, reviews or referrals; harass, discriminate against or endanger anyone; use the Platform for anything unlawful; scrape or reverse-engineer the Platform; or interfere with its operation. Breach may lead to suspension, forfeiture of commissions earned through fraud, and reporting to the authorities.
9. Aggregators and referrals
Approved partners ("Aggregators") may refer Workers and Customers and earn commission under the separate Aggregator Agreement. Referral codes may be used only as permitted by that agreement.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, presents a safety or fraud risk, or is required by law. You may close your account at any time from your profile; outstanding obligations (including fees owed and held payments in dispute) survive closure.
11. Liability
The Platform is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, WORKZA is not liable for the acts or omissions of users, for loss of profit, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the service fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
13. Governing law and disputes with WORKZA
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes with WORKZA that cannot be resolved informally within 30 days will be referred to [mediation / arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, seat Lagos], without prejudice to any right to approach the courts or the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
